It's smoothie season! Last summer I got a little bored with my usual strawberry banana, and my boyfriend wasn't a fan of its temperature - but thanks to the collective suggestions of Katie and Cari, I've created an easier, tastier, more refreshing alternative (makes two):- 1 ripe banana
- 6 oz frozen mixed berries (I used Dole's "Wildly Nutritious" blend of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries
- 2 large spoonfulls nonfat vanilla yogurt
- 16 oz orange juice
I'm thinking vodka might be a good addition ... I'll let you know if that's a very good, or very bad idea.
Ahh...I remember you making smoothies at 606 in the days when we needed smoothies and ice cream to cool us off due a serious lack of air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you girls Saturday. I walked past 606 at 10 in the morning for the March of Dimes. It also happened to be Mifflin St. Block Party. There was a balcony full of rich girls in the brand new apartments across the street in matching Mifflin t-shirts they'd made for the occasion screaming and trying to get our attention. So sad when college girls are so desperate for attention they cat-call at families walking for a cause.... Aren't you glad you got out of 606 before that monstrosity was built???
ReplyDeleteYes ... I bet those girls have air conditioning ... what kind of college experience is that?
ReplyDeleteI made these smoothies again this morning and was told there are too many seeds. Sigh. Search for the perfect smoothie continues.
Mmmm. Whatever happened to all those smoothies I used to make? This sounds delicious, esp. with the OJ. Let's see: I have frozen blueberries, yogurt, OJ, but no banana. I wonder how a potato would work?
ReplyDeleteHm... get your fruits and veggies in one suspect smoothie!
